The boys thought this was a pretty sunrise and we decided to take some pics. Just thought I'd share! You can see the school in the background. We don't have any neighbors, except for cows! We occasionally get turkeys visiting. Earlier in the summer, I let the dogs out and Mack chased them, but then they chased him because a momma had babies and was protecting them. Well a week ago, Logan came home from school and looked so scared. I asked what was wrong and he threw his arms around my neck and exploded with "I had to get by the turkeys to get home!" If you aren't familiar with the size of turkeys, they are about half his height right now. So they were a little scary. I explained that they won't chase him and now we just try to run them over or make gun sounds when they are invading our yard. They tend to run pretty fast! I'll try to get pictures next time they come to visit!

This is Nala (grey cat) and a kitten from Nala, Oliver. He is so cute. He has orange ears and orange on his tail and he has blue eyes. Nala isn't too thrilled that he stuck around but we liked him so much, he stayed with us. The cats have thought about catching the turkeys a couple times but I think they realized they didn't have a chance!

Halloween

I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the kids in there costumes! Logan was a wizard and Trevor was Optimus Prime. I will try to get them in the costumes again and take a pic for the blog. I had that Hand, Foot, and Mouth virus so it wasn't a great week for me but we did get our traditional pumpkin pics. Like I said before the camera is just about dead so they aren't great pics. Here is our FHE pumpkin carving night!

A dancing break!

I was making fun of Jason's funny faces he makes when he concentrates! You know what I'm talking about!

Logan, always the goof!

School

My camera isn't working great so I don't have many pics but I'd thought I'd tell you a little about school. Logan is loving school in a small town. He has lots of friends and a small class. He is reading on a 3rd grade level and his favorite subject is Math. He does really well in school. He must take after his dad. It seems to come really easy for him. He gets 100% on all of his spelling tests without a whole lot of studying. He sure makes my job as mom really easy. He hardly ever needs help with homework and after he reads I just check comprehension and unfamiliar words.

Trevor is loving preschool although it is a huge class (25 kids) and I worry about him really learning anything. She is the only one doing it this year though so I didn't have much choice and with me going to school I don't get a lot of time to do it myself. He loves to show me everything he did that day. One day he told me he had a new friend and I asked him what his name was and he said Brown Brody. I was a little confused but happened to have a list of kids in his class and there was a Brody Garcia. I connected the brown as the skin color of the friend. Logan also has a friend named Brody, who was in a few of the birthday pics, and he is very white so Trevor associated his friend as the brown one. It was very cute!

I drive 40 minutes one way to school everyday. It is a long drive but I love the Southern Utah University campus. I am working on education classes now so I only go to one building for all my classes and it is a brand new building with state of the art equipment. I love my classes, they are so much fun! They are more hands on and actually apply to what I am going to be doing so it is worth the drive to class. I had to apply to get into the Education program this semester and I was accepted! After this semester I will have 4 more semesters including my student teaching! There is a light!

Jason is working hard at the farms and has experienced being the boss on a few occasions like; spending the night because they had no power, problem employees, attendance issues, etc. but he still loves what he does.

Logan's 7th Birthday

Most of you know we moved to Minersville, Utah at the end of May. We had a very relaxing Summer together and by August we were ready to start the school year. But first, we had Logan's birthday to celebrate. Since it is a new town Logan didn't have many friends yet but Nea, Brandon, Carrae, and Jaxon came for a fun visit.

We rented the town pool for an hour and the kids had fun jumping off the diving board.

The kids were walking in a circle making a whirlpool in the kiddie pool.

As you can see our kids were the only ones that had floaties on. Logan has had swimming lessons but needs to do more so I don't freak out. Oh, who am I kidding I'll still panic with them around water. We will definitely do lessons next summer. This is Jason's attempt at helping Logan swim without the floaties.

After the pool we went back home and the kids found a scavenger hunt waiting.

Next was the water balloon fight and Don't Step on My Balloon game!

Then Logan opened presents and we had dirt cake!

It was a great day and Logan was so happy that he got to see his cousins!
